Letter to Our Community
Dear Community Leader/Member,
This year, we find ourselves in an unfortunate but familiar climate. But this isn’t the first time we have faced challenges. In my six years leading the Urban League of the State of Arkansas, across three presidential administrations, I have had one purpose: to show up for communities in Arkansas—supporting education, health, housing, and jobs.

The tactics may shift, but the work remains the same. The Urban League of the State of Arkansas stands unwavering in its commitment to the people we serve, delivering culturally-specific programs and wraparound services to dismantle barriers and create life-changing opportunities. We see this impact every day in our communities.
At a time of uncertainty, the Urban League remains steadfast in our mission to empower all Arkansans to thrive in education, employment, health, economic security, and quality of life. Regardless of the political landscape, our work to serve women, men, youth, families, and elders continues.
Community Leader/Member, will you help us carry forward this mission?

Your donation will create more success stories like Tara:
Tara, a single mother of two from Little Rock, struggled to find stable employment while balancing childcare and healthcare needs. Through the Urban League’s Workforce Development and Financial Empowerment programs, Tara received career training, job placement support, and access to financial literacy coaching. Today, she has a full-time job with benefits, a savings plan for her family, and is mentoring other women in her community—turning her challenges into opportunities and inspiring others to thrive.
With your support, the Urban League will continue to drive impact across critical areas:
- Financial Empowerment: Providing individuals and families with the tools to achieve financial security.
- Health and Senior Services: Ensuring access to healthcare, transportation, and social connections for our elders.
- Housing and Community Outreach: Connecting vulnerable residents to stable housing and essential resources.
- Workforce Development: Offering career training, resources for small businesses, and education to support economic stability.
- Youth and Family Programming: Guiding young people and supporting families through mentorship, education, and leadership training.
